This isn't only about finding the perfect horse to buy, also if you do lessons and you can choose a horse which on eto choose, part loaning, loaning ect ect.
So first,
DONT BE INTIMIDATED
the horse thats always bucking, throwing people off, not wanting to get ridden, might be the one for you [he was the one for me ;) ]
Don't judge a horse on if its rude because, thats trust issues, if you stick with him and build that trust, 99.99999% of the time, those problems will just fade away.
THINK
"That horse is cute, i like him"Dont be "that one" , dont judge a horse by its looks. (If its underweight, weak , thats a different story.) Doesn't matter if its a grey or a palomino, doesnt matter if he's tall or short. I ride a little pony, he isnt tiny, but he isnt horse sized, hes cob sized. And he jumps well and is my superstar.
Also what are you doing or want to do or prefer doing , jumping, flat work, hacks...? Dont answer, forget your answer. A rider is supposed to train their horse, it might be hard and boring, but even a olympic jumper started out as a little foal.
TAKE YOUR TIME
You dont have to rush your decision, you dont need to buy a horse "asap", its not an emergency, you dont need to choose which horse you want to loan in a night, it will take time to realize whos perfect for you
FEEL
If you dont feel a conection or a bond, then he, or she, isnt for you. Because riding, its a duet. You cant syncronize or harmonize if you dont understand eachother.
Thank you for reading :)
